I am an experienced ICT Operations/Account Manager, skilled in ICT Operations functions and processes, ensuring that operational excellence is delivered through managing ICT operations across the functions of Project Management, B2B sales, Account management, Incident Management, Network and Infrastructure, ICT Procurement, Financial Management, ICT Risk & Compliance, Policy Design & Implementation and People & Resources Management. I created the IT Services and Support department for OCG Estates and by consulting to the 90 companies in the building was able to increase OCG Estates turnover by 20% through the services we had to offer and project manage. I started at Ultimate Exhibitions and later became a Managing Member (owner) I restructured all IT systems as well as there digital Marketing which took there turnover from 480 Thousand to 4.6 million in 2 years and we had an IT department as an addition to our offerings. At Scan Display where I was employed as an IT Manager as all their requirements were outsourced, I grew the IT department to a point where not only was Scan saving money but I also created an entity that serviced the trade shows which now contributed to Scan’s GP.
I started with IT in 2000 where I was appointed as IT Manager, Through the years I have done numerous courses to improve my offerings to the various companies I have worked for. Unfortunately not all institutes are able to keep up to date with the movement of technology and will close. Due to the foreclosure of past institutes I am not able to gain all required documents so I have renewed some and will continue to. I have also enrolled at Open Polytechnic where I have completed my first semester with a 70% pass rate.
DetailsI have extensive knowledge of designing and setting up networks. I have physically relocated corporate offices to their new premises. I have also completed my Network+ for the second time which has helped with new technologies i.e. UTM devices, NGFW, improved cloud technology etc. There are new players in the market i.e. Fortinet who are now the front runners for larger networks with a lower costing than CISCO systems. I have worked on ITSM and ITIL software with a certification. Have also project managed larger entity installations where multiple vendors were utilised for the installation.
Through my years of IT, I have played a large role in change management for staff with new systems put in place, training of new systems and general support on all IT systems within the organisation. Changing and repairing peripherals on systems, redeploying installations over the network and updates. Virus protection and monitoring with the deployment of new virus definitions and updates. Procurement of all IT requirements through various vendors as well costing negotiations, making sure that we receive the best possible price for our purchases. Managing of IT through ITIL software and ticketing through ITSM. Making sure that a high level of redundancy is maintained in all departments.
I also have knowledge in UX design, website design with the understanding of SEO’s in social media, search engines and application design. UX design and application designs are driven through personas created so as to identify pain points and then turning them into a wish list to improve the user experience. SEO’s are set per entity as per their product or services. At sandbox we concentrated on product and service and optimised scan to be on google’s landing page when searching. Sandbox was a different approach due to the high end technology, we flooded the website with white papers and documentation which steered the more intense search patterns to pull our website to the landing page.
